1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using GoToStudy AI, you accept and agree to be bound by the terms and provision of this agreement. If you do not agree to abide by the above, please do not use this service.

2. Description of Service

GoToStudy AI is an AI-powered educational study assistant Chrome extension designed to provide contextual hints and learning guidance to help students understand course material on Canvas learning management systems. The Extension analyzes educational content and provides AI-generated assistance based on user-selected preferences.

3. Use License

Permission is granted to temporarily use GoToStudy AI for personal, educational purposes only. Under this license you may not:

• Modify or copy the extension code
• Use the extension for any commercial purpose without explicit written permission
• Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the extension
• Remove any copyright or proprietary notations from the extension
• Transfer the extension to another person or entity
• Use the extension to violate academic integrity policies of any educational institution

4. Account Accuracy and Responsibility

To access certain features of the Service, including paid subscriptions, you must provide a valid and accessible email address. You are solely responsible for ensuring the accuracy of the information provided during registration.

4.1. Consequences of Inaccurate Information

If you provide an invalid, fake, or inaccessible email address:

• Account Recovery: You acknowledge that you will be unable to reset your password or recover access to your account in the event of loss. GoToStudy AI is not liable for any permanent loss of access to your account or data.
• Payment Receipts: All transaction receipts and billing notices (via Stripe) will be sent to the registered email. We are not responsible for your failure to receive these documents due to an incorrect email address.
• Technical Support: We reserve the right to deny support or account verification requests if the user cannot demonstrate control over the email address associated with the account.

By creating an account, you agree to assume all risks associated with providing inaccurate contact information.

5. User Responsibilities

You agree to:

• Use the extension in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
• Not use the extension to violate academic integrity policies of your institution
• Maintain the confidentiality of your API keys and account information
• Not share your account or API credentials with others
• Report any unauthorized use of your account immediately
• Ensure that your use of the Service complies with your institution's academic honor code and policies

6. Academic Integrity

GoToStudy AI is designed as an educational tool to assist with learning. Users are solely responsible for ensuring their use complies with their institution's academic integrity policies.

We are not responsible for any consequences resulting from misuse of this tool or violations of academic policies. It is your responsibility to understand and comply with your institution's rules regarding the use of AI assistance tools.

7. API Keys and Authentication

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your API keys. You must not share your API keys with third parties. If you believe your API key has been compromised, you must notify us immediately. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate API keys that are used in violation of these terms.

8. Data Collection and Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which can be found at: Privacy Policy. By using the Service, you consent to the collection and use of information as described in our Privacy Policy.

9. Third-Party Services

The Service uses third-party services including:

• OpenAI: For AI-powered content analysis and generation
• Railway.app: For backend hosting and API services
• LangSmith: For service monitoring and debugging
• Stripe: For payment processing (if applicable to your subscription)

Your use of these third-party services is subject to their respective terms of service and privacy policies.

10. Service Availability

We strive to provide reliable service but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or unforeseen circumstances. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time without prior notice.

11. Intellectual Property

The GoToStudy AI extension, including all content, features, and functionality, is owned by GoToStudy AI and is protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works without explicit written permission.

12. Limitation of Liability

In no event shall GoToStudy AI, its suppliers, or third-party service providers be liable for any damages (including, without limitation, damages for loss of data or profit, or due to business interruption) arising out of the use or inability to use the extension, even if we have been notified of the possibility of such damage. The Extension is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind.

13. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE.

14. Subscription Terms

If you subscribe to our premium services, you agree to pay all fees associated with your subscription. Subscriptions are billed on a recurring basis and will automatically renew unless cancelled. You may cancel your subscription at any time through the subscription management portal. Refunds are subject to our refund policy.

15. Rate Limiting

We reserve the right to implement rate limiting on API requests to ensure fair usage and service stability. Excessive usage may result in temporary or permanent suspension of access.

16. Termination

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your access to the service immediately, without prior notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms of Service or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties, or for any other reason.
